Relates to the unlawful purchase and the unlawful sale or delivery of a body vest
If you believe government's job is to protect you, look no further than this new law for proof that you are wrong. An active shooter is already breaking so many laws that it isn't funny. But NY has added one more they will ignore, one that removes DEFENSIVE capabilities of civilians.
With mounting activity by groups on both the far left and far right, it is unconscionable to remove NYer's abilities to protect themselves and their loved ones. When laws are thoughtlessly implemented like this, the only people penalized are the law abiding citizens.
This law goes into effect 30 days after signature, so 7/6/2022.
Update 7/4/2022. The law was modified to include all body armor under S51001, not just vests.
